The box you never chose.
One checkbox in the Swedish occupational pension decides who gets the money when you die. Most people never picked how it was set. Finstilt makes you uncover it, eleven folios, one gesture each.
Death holds the hourglass. The sand runs out as pixels.
One box. Two outcomes.
tickedYou die. Your family gets your pension.
emptyYou die. Strangers get it.
I worked at a pension company, and this was the question nobody touched. I tested how hard it is to tick the box and untick it. Then my father died, and his whole pension went to the collective.
You cannot skim it. You have to uncover it.
Every folio runs the same grammar. The consequence always comes before the explanation.
My favourite part. The money leaves when you do.
500 000 kr
All of it went to strangers. None of it to your family.
In the product the capital turns vermillion and a feed of small payouts eats it, names you have never heard, until it is gone. Small sums were the point: five big chunks read as a table, ninety small ones read as bleeding.
Old, heavy, and built to confuse.
Medieval, because that is what pensions feel like: a musty system nobody dares open. Corrupted by pixels, because the money quietly disappears.
95 % quiet. Three things loud.

When every element shouts medieval, nothing stands out. So the interface went calm and three heirlooms kept their voice. Two reds that never mix. Radius zero, flat fills, hard shadows only. It is all written down in Provboken ↗, fifteen plates built on their own system.
Hardly any pension company speaks anything else.
Vem får din tjänstepension när du dör?
Who gets your occupational pension when you die?
من يحصل على معاشك التقاعدي المهني عند وفاتك؟
The people with the most at stake are often the ones the system never translated for. Right to left included.
Everyone in the pension industry knows this is something they cannot talk about.
Launched on LinkedIn. The industry glanced over and kept quiet.
